India's most accomplished trail and ultra runner. He was the first Indian to finish the 246km Spartathlon. First to speed-summit Mt. Friendship Peak at 5,289 m and Mt. Deo Tibba at 6,001 m solo. Ten peaks above 6,000m in 26 days. And Competed at Five Trail World Championships. He lives in the mountains and has raced multiple UTMB Race including the one at Chiang Mai.

  • Daily trail training with Kieren, split into small groups by ability and race goals.

  • Master technical trails, climbing, descending and race execution through focused sessions.

  • Race the HOKA Chiang Mai by UTMB, then celebrate with the crew over northern Thai food, recovery and stories from the trail.

Who is this retreat for?

This retreat is designed for runners preparing for the Chiang Mai by UTMB race. Whether you're aiming to finish your first trail ultra or chasing a stronger performance, you'll train with runners who are serious about improving. We split sessions by ability and race goals, so everyone gets the right challenge.

Do I need to be an experienced runner?

You should be comfortable running 20KM and have a reasonable fitness base, but you don't need years of trail experience. Training is adapted to different abilities, and Kieren will help you build confidence on technical terrain before race day.

Is the UTMB race included?

Yes. Your race entry for the selected Chiang Mai by UTMB distance is included. We'll help you prepare throughout the week so you arrive at the start line ready to perform.

What kind of trails will we run?

Expect technical jungle singletrack, steep climbs, flowing descents, roots, rocks and humid conditions. These are the same types of trails you'll encounter during race week.

What does a typical day look like?

Most mornings begin with focused trail training. Afternoons are for recovery, cafés, massages or exploring Chiang Mai. Evenings are spent together over great food, race strategy and recovery before the next session.

Where will we stay?

We'll stay together in a private pool villa with comfortable shared spaces designed for recovery between training sessions. Private and shared room options are available.

Who usually comes on these retreats?

Founders, operators, creatives and athletes who enjoy challenging themselves. Most people arrive alone and leave with a crew they'll probably train with again.

What's not included?

International flights, travel insurance, personal shopping, alcohol and anything outside the listed itinerary.
