Snow, Slopes & Crash: Reckless in Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan felt like being dropped into a cold, confusing video game where none of us knew the rules—but somehow we kept clearing levels together. It was altitude, adrenaline, and absurd laughter in sub-zero wind. It was snow in our hair. Hot chocolate in our hands. Glutes burn at 3,200 meters. Major Core and knee workout. Walking (more like waddling) in Ski boots!

The Tian Shan Life 🌊
Perched high in the Tian Shan mountains, just above Almaty, Shymbulak became our playground. Wide white slopes. Cable cars gliding over valleys that look like wallpaper. Our 6 AM wake-up calls to get to our lessons.
The Reckless Part
From getting lost in the city to getting stuck on a snowy hill and pushing a car together. From endless cab-hailing missions to hunting for pants that matched our jackets to finding food that matched our palettes. From beer pub crawls to a wildly unplanned karaoke night. From countless cab and gondola rides—filled with loud conversations, confusion, or both.
The crashes deserve their own paragraph.
A full hat-trick breaking the cushion barrier on the slope.
One person is falling sick.
One person landing in a hospital ,after getting home.
One person is losing both pairs of shoes.
One person gets their head stuck in the cable car.
Four people battling legendary hangovers.
Two people tumbling down a hill.
Infinite T-bar fails. Zero grace. Maximum effort.
Aftermath: Almaty Exploration 🏔️
Just when we thought the retreat was over, we decided otherwise. Three of us explored Almaty a little more:
Cosy cafés with giant windows and mountain views.
Local markets.
Finding hole-in-the-wall ramen spots.
Christmas Market & Ice Skating
